Updated Design and Added Functionality Enhance Kimball Office Definition Casegoods
JASPER, Ind. — Although the past few years in contract office furniture have focused on the open plan and benching, Kimball(R) Office recognizes the need to continue providing professional and contemporary private office solutions. The Definition(TM) casegoods line, a staple within the company’s portfolio, is evolving to offer private office users increased functionality that balances the need for meeting and individual work space, as well as different organizational needs desired by a multi-generational workforce. Enhancements to Definition will be on display the week of June 11, in the Kimball Office showroom, located at 325 N. Wells St., Chicago.
“For years, Definition has provided organizations with a reliable casegoods solution. Today, the line includes a new look and options that support different design preferences and increased use of technology,” said Jan Dodd, director of product development for Kimball Office. “The market for private office casegoods is still healthy, and Definition will continue receiving updates in order to meet the changing needs of this market.”
Many of Definition’s new progressive and contemporary enhancements complement the line’s existing, classic style. A new angled extension top creates a cockpit and can host up to three guests for impromptu meetings; additional extension tops, legs and panels are available to build flexible workwalls. Definition’s enhancements also support wired technology with new grommets that sit flush to the surface, and hinged modesty panels to help manage and hide cabling. Other new enhancements include partial-height modesty panels and the choice between a classic U-leg, open-frame leg, cylinder base and veneer panels for extensions. Definition’s finished backs allow the line to stand alone or integrate with systems products such as Kimball Office’s Traxx and Tiles(R) wall system, and Cetra(R) and Xsite(R) panel systems.
Definition is available with finishes from Kimball Office’s new Vision Collection of natural and premium veneers. The natural finishes support Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) wood options and include Kimball Office’s proprietary UV-finish, Pura(R).
Definition meets Scientific Certification Standards (SCS) Indoor Advantage(TM) Gold and American National Standards Institute/Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (ANSI/BIFMA) level(R) 2 and 3 certifications. The products could contribute towards Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED(R)) credits and support an organization’s sustainability practices. Definition’s enhancements will be available in fall 2012.
