AeraMax Professional: Minimizing the Cost of Flu Season
Itasca, Ill. — Sept. 15, 2015 — A special report highlights why some of the major ramifications of the influenza virus – including health risks and high costs of absenteeism – can be lessened through the use of targeted air purification.
Influenza is responsible for an estimated 17 million lost workdays and 38 million missed days of school in the U.S. each year, which is why facility managers and executives need to ensure clean air filtration in schools, offices, and other areas where people gather during the upcoming flu season.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that airborne exposure is the most common form of flu transmission. That’s why AeraMax Professional, which released the report, is working with facilities nationwide to remove infectious particles and other contaminants from the air. An independent test found that the commercial-grade air purifier eliminated 99.9 percent of airborne flu particles in a virus-filled room in only 35 minutes.
“We want to give facility managers and executives as much information as possible on how to minimize the effects of flu season,” said Jeff Dryfhout, AeraMax Professional’s director of global marketing. “Cleaning surfaces and hand-washing are only a small part of the solution.”
As flu season approaches, AeraMax Professional is raising awareness of indoor air quality, specifically how cleaning the air is imperative to infection prevention. The special report focuses on four main points:
• Flu is costly and can be extremely detrimental.
• Traditional prevention methods aren’t enough,
• Airborne exposure is the most common way to catch flu.
• Small virus particles can travel throughout rooms.
