Options in Vinyl Flooring

The three most commonly used types of vinyl flooring — LVT, VCT and sheet — all have different aesthetics and lend themselves to different applications. Choosing the most appropriate one for a space will ensure a long-lasting floor with a good design aesthetic.
VCT is the standard go-to flooring where vinyl is being used. It’s usually the least expensive option and it’s very durable. It comes in a variety of colors, but often has the same mottled pattern. It’s often seen in K-12 educational facilities.
LVT is similar to VCT, but it has a layer of photographic film laminated to the surface, giving the appearance of a natural material. It’s usually more durable and less expensive than the natural material, however.
Sheet vinyl has two main advantages over both types of tile. It’s used in spaces where hygiene is of utmost importance, such as health care facilities, because it is impervious with properly welded seams. Aesthetically, it gives a space a monolithic, seamless appearance.
