Description: JOB SUMMARY:
Provides technical leadership on assigned group projects at CBHC-owned/leased properties. Provides oversight and assistance at all sites on life safety issues, consistent with Facilities leadership’s guidance. Is lead technician on all CBHC HVAC activities. Works with Facilities leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory statutes and Joint Commission requirements, as needed.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and Organizing
• Coordinate the maintenance, repair, general upkeep and storage of company vehicles including, but not limited to the testing vans etc.
• Maintain all activities of hazardous materials.
Compliance, Policy, and Procedure
• Determine and implement appropriate procedures to ensure high reliability for all sites critical systems.
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Preventative Maintenance Procedures (PMPs).
• Ensure operational compliance within the areas of JAHCO, HRSA and company policies and procedures.
Analytical and Critical Thinking
• Assist Director of Facilities as needed with new installs, repairs, PM’s and recording on all medical equipment.
• Assist the Director of Facilities as needed and perform preventive maintenance and repairs of the building facility utility equipment including split systems, exhaust fans, A/C units (roof tops/package units), chillers, boilers, pumps, piping systems, chilled water system, reheat hot water, vacuum system, fire detection and suppression systems, plumbing systems, generator and building automated system (BAS).
• Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, fixture replacements, locks, windows, doors and floors.
• Assist Director of Facilities as needed with projects, new installations, inspections and repairs of equipment with contractors.
Teamwork
• Provide support to group project teams. Project task involves creating, reviewing drawings/ specifications and providing design input.
• Assist the Facilities Maintenance, Safety and Compliance Coordinator as needed and with Fire and Emergency Managements drills and exercises.
Communication
• Member of the Emergency Response Team for all sites.
• Provide technical support/training to the facility team members.
• The omission of specific duties herein does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically and reasonably related to the position.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Duties require climbing ladders/stairs, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pulling and pushing large/heavy equipment/packages.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must provide excellent customer service in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative.
• Work according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards with minimal supervision within the assigned time frame maintaining productivity levels.
• Recognize and act on opportunities; adjust direction when situation warrants.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Able to build internal and external relationships using effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled in the use of engineering instruments and tools. Ability to use various maintenance equipment, tools and machinery.
• Operation Monitoring – Watch and interpret gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly. Report and correct (or identify resources needed to correct) equipment deficiencies.
• Must be able to be “on call” as required and carry a cell phone to respond to facility emergencies.
• Ability to understand, read and revise complex Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma (or equivalency); college experience preferred but not required.
• At least (5) years of hands-on experience as a facilities technician in a fast-paced facilities management environment, including a minimum of (1) year in a supervisory or quasi-supervisory facilities position.
• Knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) Joint Commission certification requirements; general knowledge of building, electrical, life safety codes; ability to diagnose MEP equipment and recommend corrective repair strategies.
• Must have knowledge of Infection Control and Standard Precautions, as well as Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
• Knowledge of the standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to the construction, and maintenance of structures and facilities in order to meet all job-relevant standards related to OSHA, Fire, Safety and Utilities, Security, Emergency preparedness, and codes.
Requires a valid Driver License
