Kimball Office Offers FSC at Standard Lead Times
More than 5,000 Models are Available with the FSC Option
JASPER, Ind. — Kimball(R) Office is proud to announce that more than 5,000 wood veneer casegood, storage and table models are now available with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified wood at a standard lead time.
“The demand for responsibly-produced office furniture continues to increase, and designers and clients want to work with manufacturers that help protect forests and conserve the environment,” said Steve Brewster, operations program manager for Kimball Office. “Additionally, organizations using FSC-certified products can maximize their furniture purchases potential contribution for certain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED(R)) credits.”
With this offering, Kimball Office has reduced the cost premium of FSC certified products to only three percent, down from the traditional 20 percent.
FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly-managed forests, with third-party certifiers who evaluate forest management in accordance with FSC standards. Kimball Office is part of the FSC Chain-of-Custody certification, which provides clients and users with the confidence of knowing the products directly support responsible forest management, as well as environmentally responsible manufacturers, processors and traders of FSC-certified forest products.
