Sept. 5, 2014 – AKRF, the Northeast’s leading environmental, planning and engineering consultant, today announced that Jon Brownstein, Ph.D., has joined the firm as vice president in its Hanover, Md., office.
With more than 25 years of experience dedicated to environmental, engineering and program-management services, Dr. Brownstein will bring AKRF the enhanced ability to serve both its public and private sector clients as it grows its practices in the mid-Atlantic region. He was formerly the business unit director for compliance, engineering and IT services at EA Engineering, Science and Technology, Inc.
Dr. Brownstein has extensive expertise in permitting and environmental compliance. He has worked to support clients on complex technical and regulatory challenges, including the development and enhancement of organization-wide compliance programs addressing air quality, water resources, site contamination and other related permitting concerns, and has provided such services to a variety of federal, state and municipal clients.
“With the addition of Jon Brownstein to our Maryland office, we see our practice growing firm-wide in the regulatory arena with both public agencies and private organizations in the mid-Atlantic region,” said Fred Jacobs, Ph.D., senior vice president in AKRF’s Maryland office.
At AKRF, Dr. Brownstein will work with federal, state and local agencies, as well as private entities, to address a wide range of permitting and related compliance program-management requirements. He will help clients to plan ahead and strategize to ensure that their project’s needs are met in a thorough, efficient manner.
