Door Locks Target Safety and Aesthetics

3/8/2019

INOX, creator of innovative and premium decorative hardware and door locks for more than 25 years, introduces the industry’s first surface-mounted lock made specifically for barn doors. The Surface Mount Barn Door Lock is a patented, easy-to-install stainless steel lock designed to reduce installation time while still providing durable safety and security for commercial and residential projects.

“Builders were telling us that some barn door locks can take over an hour to install, which impacts their bottom line on a project. So we set out to create a locking solution that uses fewer trade-specific tools to decrease the overall install time,” said Jeff Howes, President of INOX. “Now, we are excited to introduce our new Surface Mount Barn Door Lock, which only takes about 15 minutes to install from start to finish.”

Installed with discrete screws affixing it to the door jamb, the Surface Mount Barn Door Lock is built to withstand heavy commercial use, yet easy to install for homeowners and nonprofessionals as well. The locking mechanism features a one-inch bolt that is activated by a one-touch thumb lever, including an ADA option and can be locked from inside the room. A dust-proof strike is installed on the barn door to eliminate dust and debris from collecting, ensuring longevity of performance. For emergencies the lock also features a concealed release button on the outside of the door for occupants incapable of opening the door from the inside.

Five designer finishes provide both aesthetic and practical options that complement any design space, including: Bright Stainless Steel, Satin Stainless Steel, Satin Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze and Graphite Black. This hardware is also offered with CeraMax, a line of ceramic-coated door hardware that prevents deterioration due to harsh environments, including oxidization and humidity, as a premium option.
