Arborite Announces Arborite Ink

New Series Features Custom Patterns from Leading Designers

Chicago, IL — —Arborite, a Montreal-based leader in the laminate industry, is taking high-pressure laminates to the next level with Arborite INK, its new designer series. This color-forward collection features three patterns from designers at the forefront of their fields: Gonzalo Bustamante of GBDW (hospitality); Peggy Leung of PLD Studio (retail); and Giona Maiarelli of Maiarelli Studio (graphics). Each designer set out to create something completely fresh and colorful that would fill a market need and appeal to contract specifiers across North America.

According to Arborite President, Salvatore Rivera, “By partnering with outside designers with deep experience in specific market segments, we are identifying opportunities to bring our sixty+ years of product development expertise to a wider range of customers. The designers used laminate as a canvas to create innovative and contemporary patterns that are unique to Arborite and unlike any other available on the market.”

Rivera continues, “At Arborite, we are committed to innovation and collaboration. This collection gave us the opportunity to do both. We are excited to launch new patterns, designed by designers for designers, that are ideally suited to the market segments which are important to Arborite’s growth.”

The 2013 Arborite INK designs are:

Corcho, designed by Gonzalo Bustamante (GBDW)—Inspired by the cork produced throughout Spain and Portugal, Corcho (which is Spanish for “cork”) was created with the hospitality industry in mind. Bustamante’s play on the material displays it in intertwining curves juxtaposed with the geometry of a clean, circular motif. Corcho is available in two contrasting colors : Natural and Azul.

Random, designed by Peggy Leung (PLD Studio)—Leung drew inspiration from classic mosaic tiles when designing this graphic laminate. Crisp squares in a range of chromatic colors give an almost pixelated impression in this contemporary design. Random is available in two bold and subtle colors: Gray and Red.

Pyne, designed by Giona Maiarelli (Maiarelli Studio)— Pyne is a playful re-imagining of a wood grain, combining hand-drawn lines to present a playful faux wood grain, with vibrant contemporary colors to result in a versatile laminate that looks both smart and tongue in cheek. Pyne’s inverse colors are Purple and Orange.

The Arborite INK patterns feature oversize repeats, available in standard 4’ x 8’ panels with no minimum order. Custom colors are available upon request.
