ASSA ABLOY Receives Updated Lenel Factory Certification under Lenel's OpenAccess Alliance Program

ASSA ABLOY enhances interface between its IP-enabled locks and Lenel’s OnGuard® access control security system

New Haven, CT – ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions, has announced that it has successfully updated the Lenel factory certification for the interface of its IP-enabled locks with the Lenel® OnGuard® 2012 (version 6.5.624) and 2013 (version 6.6.287) platforms. ASSA ABLOY is a member of the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP).

The updated OAAP certification includes new features and enhanced performance when using WiFi and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) locks from ASSA ABLOY Group brands CORBIN RUSSWIN and SARGENT. New features include Deadbolt Override, Double Swipe/Pass and Limited (One) Time Use. Additionally, total capacity of IP locks per system has been increased.

The CORBIN RUSSWIN and SARGENT IP-enabled products lower the total cost of ownership by leveraging existing or planned network infrastructure to reduce installation time and material costs. The IP-enabled devices include locks that connect to a host system through an existing 802.11b/g WiFi network, and IEEE 802.3af compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) locks that connect to the Local Area Network (LAN) utilizing a single Ethernet cable for both power and data.

“The coordination of ASSA ABLOY IP-enabled locks with the Lenel OnGuard platform allows facilities to leverage their IT infrastructure to bring EAC deeper into the building for a much lower cost than traditional hardwired openings,” said Martin Huddart, President Access and Egress Hardware Group, ASSA ABLOY Americas. "With the updated certification, we are pleased to offer several new features and enhanced performance to OnGuard users.”

“ASSA ABLOY has completed required factory testing at Lenel to validate the functionality of its interface to OnGuard,” said Gidon Lissai, director of strategic alliances, Lenel Systems. “We look forward to their continued involvement in the Lenel’s OpenAccess Alliance Program.”
