Product Release: Kirberg Company Helios Monitor
The financial benefits of going green just became a bit clearer with the introduction of Kirberg Company’s Helios Monitor. The new monitor measures Photovoltaic (PV) Panel output, and converts it into a visual display that provides instant energy-output data, thereby enabling businesses to “watch their green grow” in real time. With the Helios Monitor, businesses can identify exactly how much energy they’re saving with their Photovoltaic Panels, and how much that energy savings is contributing to their bottom line.
The Helios Monitor, which can be installed on any existing PV roof, works by measuring output directly from the PV roof’s solar inverter. It then converts that output into a visual display of instant kilowatts, as well as daily, weekly, monthly, and lifetime kilowatts produced. The Helios Monitor also coverts those numbers to report solar offset in equivalent terms of pounds of CO2, dozens of light bulbs, gallons of gas, barrels of oil, tree seedlings grown, pounds of coal saved, and pounds of waste recycled.
The environmental benefits achieved through the use of PV Panels, combined with the increased resale value of PV-Paneled buildings, and the ability to sell unused energy back to the utility company, offers reason enough for many businesses to take the PV-Panel-leap. Now, with the Helios Monitor, the financially minded have more measurable incentives, too.
“Installing Photovoltaic Panels is now much more than just creating a culture of environmental stewardship,” says Eric Kirberg, President of Kirberg Company. “With real-time output data, businesses can put a number on the annual increase to their bottom line, and that offers another great reason for them to make the switch.”
To calculate their potential money savings each year, businesses need only multiply their yearly output of kilowatt hours (kWh) by the average value of electricity in their state ($.06 per kWh in Missouri). Kirberg Company’s Helios monitor makes that calculation easy, and it helps to make Photovoltaic Roofing even more appealing.
