The Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association (RCMA) has officially opened nominations for its 2026 Project of the Year Award program, recognizing outstanding roof coating projects that demonstrate innovation, technical excellence, sustainability and value for building owners. This award program highlights the growing role roof restoration and coating systems play in extending roof service life, reducing waste and avoiding costly roof replacements.
The program is open to roofing contractors who completed eligible roof coating projects between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025. Projects must be located within the 50 United States, Washington D.C. or Puerto Rico. There is no limit to the number of projects a contractor may submit, and participation is free.
An independent panel of roofing professionals will evaluate submissions based on five key criteria: innovation, technical excellence, project complexity, aesthetics and design and sustainability. Contractors interested in participating must submit their entries by July 15. Each submission must include a completed application, signed contractor and building owner release forms and up to five high-resolution project photographs.
Facilities managers whose buildings have benefited from successful roof coating projects may want to encourage their roofing partners to apply. Winners will be announced during RCMA’s 2026 Fall Meeting on October 7, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Additional information, submission guidelines and application materials are available at https://www.roofcoatings.org/pty/.
