What are the first steps an FM should take when a replacement is diagnosed?
Once it is determined that a roof system requires full replacement roofing professionals should be engaged to determine the best type of roof system for the facility. The FM should research materials and manufacturers and determine both the best manufacturer and roofing contractor for their facility. Questions to ask should include track record on similar facilities, experience, and number of years in business and financial backing. This information can be provided by references and research on the internet. The most important factor may be how they respond to problems — manufacturer and contractor — this is ultimately the mark of a good company.
