Technician Training Classes Offered by PHCC

Leadership and communication courses can help technicians improve their skills and move their careers forward.   February 11, 2026

By Dave Lubach, Chief Editor

Many facility managers find their way into the profession through the trades, and during the process learn the necessary people skills, or “soft skills,” to grow from technicians into leadership positions.

The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Educational Foundation has created a series of courses to help technicians make that transition. The educational courses are designed to support improving communications, leadership and customer service skills for aspiring managers.

PHCC’s service skills courses are short, focused lessons for technicians and facility leaders focused on enhancing communications skills and include interactive video training and real-world applications. The courses can be viewed at the participant’s convenience and accessed on smartphones and tablets.

All courses can be accessed at the PHCC Academy and vary in price but are available at bundle pricing for managers who wish to enroll multiple employees. Participants receive certificates of completion upon finishing the course.
