Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, Baton Rouge, La.., recently broke ground on a new state-of-the-art healthcare facility.
The new hospital, designed specifically for children, will be six floors, 350,000 square feet and includes inpatient beds, a pediatric emergency room, surgical unit, a dedicated hematology/oncology unit that will serve both inpatients and outpatients and playrooms on every floor.
Plans also include a four-story, 95,000-square-foot medical office building primarily for pediatric medical specialists.
The current children’s hospital operates as a hospital within a hospital inside Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. The estimated construction cost for the hospital and medical office building is $230 million. The project is expected to be complete in late 2018.
