Contrary to what people may think, the off-season is one of the busiest times for sports facilities.

The New York Giants’ headquarters, Quest Diagnostics Training Center, will undergo renovations this spring and plans to leave no stone unturned. According to Giants Wire, the building contains administrative offices, four practice fields (one indoor, three outdoor), weight and training rooms, medical facilities and meeting spaces.

Currently, the lobby contains a glass case holding the team’s four Super Bowl trophies. Beyond that, the facility remains lackluster. Much-needed upgrades include a renovation of the kitchen and cafeteria, locker room and weight room. Renovation plans are expected for the facility to be “bigger and better,” according to Giants Wire. The franchise hopes that the improved facility will help attract players to stay for the long term.

The Giants aren’t the only NFL team that is upgrading. Last summer, the New York Jets gave their locker room a facelift. According to ESPN, the state-of-the-art locker room contains a 230-square-foot, three-dimensional Jets logo that is illuminated by 500 lights and 92 customized lockers that features a video screen that can be used to review plays or watch game highlights. In addition, each locker comes with a custom seat, USB port, cool storage compartments and fans to dry equipment.

The facility also added refurbished barber chairs in the event a player wants a haircut or a shave after practice. Renovations came shortly after the NFL Players Association conducted an anonymous survey, giving their locker room a D-plus grade, ranking 26th in the league.
