CMMS: Develop a Coding System To Analyze, Correct Problems
By Kris Bagadia, author - February 2009 - Software
For all unplanned jobs, including emergencies and breakdowns, technicians should collect data on the cause of the problem and the corrective action taken. This process involves designing a coding system that is easy to use and understand and will allow for data gathering, but still is powerful in terms of producing results.
Managers and technicians then can analyze the data to find the root cause of the problems. Breakdowns and failures never are planned and result in lost productivity and money. Once managers identify the root cause, technicians can develop and implement a plan to prevent the failure from happening again.
