Doors for the high-voltage transformer vaults and electrical equipment rooms containing generators, switchboards, and/or panelboards are often misunderstood in egress requirements by the NFPA 70, National Electircal Code which require 3-hour fire rating and be equipped with panic bars to open outwards from the electrical room or the vault to the hallway or outdoors.
