Lonza's Innovative Lonzagard Carbosan D Series of Sanitizers/Disinfectants Helps Combat Foodborne Diseases
Allendale, N.J. — Sept. 16, 2014 – Lonza has recently introduced its new line of indirect food contact sanitizers with general disinfection claims. The Lonzagard Carbosan D series is the next generation of Quaternary Ammonium compounds, offering advantages such as corrosion inhibition, strong cleaning ability/surfactant properties, rapid wetting, and good hard-water tolerance.
This series of sanitizers/disinfectants, with its combination of indirect food contact sanitization and general disinfection claims, can help to combat foodborne diseases.
It is the ideal product for food processing, food retail, and food service establishments, as well as for institutional applications where corrosion protection and good cleaning abilities are desired.
Available in highly dilutable concentrates, the Carbosan D series offers an economical solution to combat foodborne microorganisms.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that each year roughly 1 in 6 Americans – or 48 million people – get sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die of foodborne diseases.
“Foodborne pathogens can proliferate and linger on hard surfaces, which underscores the need for a comprehensive sanitation program, which should include highly effective antimicrobials such as the Carbosan D Sanitizers/Disinfectants,” said Craig Carter, Lonza’s NAFTA marketing manager in hygiene.
