Legrand Expands Wattstopper Line of 0-10V Dimming Wall Switch Occupancy Sensors for LED Lighting Applications

Legrand, North America today introduced the Wattstopper DW-311 Dual Technology 0-10V Dimming Wall Switch Occupancy Sensor. This specification grade solution provides building and energy code compliant occupancy and 0-10V dimming control for LED lighting applications, and it was recently accepted into the prestigious 2016 Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Progress Report.

The DW-311 extends control to small and medium-sized applications including rooms with partitions such as restrooms, large offices, conference rooms with cubical walls, and classrooms. This sensor features Wattstopper dual technology, which combines Passive Infrared (PIR) and ultrasonic technologies to easily detect minor and major movements in spaces that may have obstacles that impede direct line of sight movement to the sensor.

Incorporating lighting controls can result in extra energy savings of 30-40% in office environments and 50-70% in restroom applications. As buildings upgrade to energy efficient LED lighting fixtures, these sensors can provide further energy savings when implemented in lighting controls programs. For example, the sensor defaults to manual-on operation so lights turn on only when needed, ensuring maximum energy savings for LED lighting projects and upgrades.

Available now, the DW-311 features include:

·       Key mode settings: With simple dual in-line package (DIP) switches, users can easily adjust to meet their needs with options such as power loss mode, smart light level, and presentation mode. Users can also disable presentation mode, which allows for more consistent auto-on functionality in transient spaces such as restrooms and conference rooms, ensuring that lights come on automatically.

·       Vandal resistant and color matched lens: The lens is reinforced to withstand impact and is vandal resistant, perfect for high traffic areas. Color options with matched lenses provide an appealing aesthetic that can meet any décor.

·   Code compliance: Meet local energy code requirements with added dimming capability. The sensor offers a simple code-compliant {ASHRAE 90.1 (2010) and California Title 24 (2016)} solution for retrofit upgrades.

·   Multi-way control: Sensor reduces the number of devices required in a space with full function multi-way control from one to four control locations

The Wattstopper DW-311 is the latest offering in Legrand’s line of 0-10V dimming wall switch sensors. This launch follows the release ofWattstopper PW-311 passive infrared 0-10 volt dimming wall switch occupancy sensor. Released in March 2016, this sensor is ideal for small commercial applications, including private offices or break rooms with direct line of site.

“We’re simplifying the transition to energy efficient LED lighting control systems with flexible solutions like our family of 0-10V dimming wall switch occupancy sensors,” said Daniel Stankovich, Product Manager for Wattstopper at Legrand, North America. “Customers can now easily get a higher level of performance and energy savings out of their LED lighting fixtures by adding Wattstopper DW-311 and PW-311 sensors to their LED lighting projects.”###
