Standard-sized roof hatches are approved for hurricane and wind resistance by the Miami-Dade County Building Code Compliance Office and Florida Building Commission. The 36- by 36-inch (Type E), 48- by 48-inch (Type F), and 30- by 96-inch (Type L) roof hatches passed the the Uniform Static Air Pressure Test, testing for impact of wind-borne debris and the Cyclic Wind-Pressure Loading test. The products provide safe and convenient access to roof areas by means of an interior ladder, ship stair or service stair.
