Youngstown, Ohio — June 8, 2015 — True Simon LLC, a joint venture between True Inspection Services of Urbana, Ohio, and national commercial roofing company Simon Roofing, has been named among four approved contractors for roof repair and replacement contracts within the U.S. Air Force’s Northeast region. The national contract is capped at $325 million over a five-year period.
Following a nearly two-year proposal process, True Simon earned the right to bid for a series of identified commercial roofing projects in the Air Force’s Northeast region that includes Delaware (Dover AFB), Maryland (Joint Base Andrews), Massachusetts (Cape Cod AFS and Hanscom AFB), New Hampshire, (New Boston AFS), New Jersey (Joint Base McGuire), New York (Rome Labs), Ohio (Wright-Patterson AFB), and Virginia (Joint Base Langley). The contract is composed of five Air Force regions.
“This award presents a significant business opportunity for both Simon Roofing and True Inspection,” said Barry Couts, president, True Simon.
Simon Roofing formed the joint venture with True Inspection Services, an SBA 8(a) company, in April 2013 following a two-year relationship as part of SBA’s Mentor-Protégé Program.
“Our joint venture is a win-win for both companies,” said Kelly West, vice president, True Simon. “It allows Simon Roofing to bid on 8(a) projects, and gives True Inspection Services access to Simon’s bonding capacity, national network of service centers, and extensive experience in the industry.”
Thirty-two contractors were chosen among the five regions for the USAF contracts that will range from about $220 million to a ceiling of $325 million.
