Indianapolis, Ind. — Feb. 24, 2015 – GenFlex Roofing Systems, a leading supplier of single-ply commercial roofing products, has introduced an enhanced self-adhesive technology for its EZ TPO Peel & Stick membrane. The new adhesive formula offers twice the bonding strength of competitive self-adhesive products (by lbf/in in peel testing), and can be installed in temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit and as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
For more than 30 years, GenFlex has been known for durable and dependable roofing products, supporting the commercial roofing industry with contractor-friendly innovations and customer service. The improved Peel & Stick adhesive allows contractors to maximize their productivity with the confidence of superior installed performance.
“The Peel & Stick membrane has been a great time-saver for contractors – no more hauling buckets of adhesive around the job site, mixing, and waiting for flash off,” said Eric Ziemba, general manager for GenFlex. “And the new adhesive offers low and high-temperature installation, for a longer installation window and more jobs per year.”
By avoiding separate transportation, mixing, priming, and application of adhesive, as well as clean-up of associated rooftop clutter, the self-adhesive membrane means significant time and labor savings. The pre-formulated and factory-applied adhesive also equals uniform performance.
“Consistent performance is our top priority,” Ziemba said. “Contractors have to be able to stand behind their work, and this formula delivers the strongest self-adhesive bonds on the market.”
The new EZ TPO Peel & Stick adhesive also has no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and is odor-free. By exceeding low-VOC emissions requirements, the EZ TPO Peel & Stick membrane is safe for installers and building tenants, avoiding any delays or concerns when they are working in occupied buildings.
“Using environmentally friendly products is the first step towards green buildings,” Ziemba added. “The durability and solar-reflectance of our TPO makes it an energy-saving option, and by eliminating toxic chemicals like VOCs in our adhesive we avoid air quality issues.”
Ziemba went on to note that the improved Peel & Stick adhesive also outperforms alternative low-VOC products in bonding strength.
