Hastings Tile & Bath Now Carrying Pendant and Sconce Designs From Tracy Glover Studio

Hand-blown Glass Lighting Complements Contemporary Bath Fixtures and Furniture

NEW YORK — Hastings Tile & Bath, the importers and distributors of contemporary bathroom fixtures, furniture and tiles, recently announced they have added a full complement of hand-blown pendants and sconces from artist Tracy Glover to their offerings in their New York City and Chicago Hastings Tile & Bath Showrooms.

Tracy Glover’s exuberant glass lighting and decorative accessories are visually arresting: refined, glamorous, with a deliberately controlled color palette that elegantly functions in a universe of spaces. Her primary skill is being an expert craftsman using time-honored Venetian glassblowing techniques. Then there is her color sense: playful, lighthearted, fresh; marrying hues in triplicate for her wonderful a cane striped patterns. She delights in the physicality of the glass-making process, and the challenge of working with such a malleable, fragile material. Every piece is made to order; Tracy is the sole designer. She and her assistants blow the glass in her studio before assembling the components into finished commissioned pieces.

“We chose to carry Tracy Glover’s lighting because of her playful yet exquisite use of color,” said Bob Gifford, director of bath products at Hastings. “Because they are hand-blown, each piece is unique and when paired with our contemporary bath products — the combination is always eye-catching. We also like that her studio is located right here on the East Coast — in Rhode Island.

Tracy Glover with Glass Pendants
Hastings showroom has a number of pendants on display which provide customers a taste of the custom nature of her work. When seen against Hastings’ contemporary ceramic bath products, the contrast of the pendants against the pure white ceramic creates an eye-catching visual.
To see more of Tracy Glover’s pendants and sconces, customers can visit the Hastings Tile & Bath Showrooms in New York City at the Architects and Designers Building or in Chicago at the Merchandise Mart.
