OSHA Rule Targets Exposure to Silica Dust
Workers exposed to respirable silica dust will receive greater protection under a final rule issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The rule will curb lung cancer, silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and kidney disease in workers by limit in exposure to respirable crystalline silica. About 2.3 million men and women face exposure in their workplaces, including 2 million workers who drill and cut materials such as concrete and stone. Click here for more information.
