Under general direction, plans and directs security and maintenance functions, construction, and renovation for all Library facilities. $81,744.00 gross annual salary. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a closely related field; AND five (5) years of facilities construction and maintenance management experience,two (2) years of which were in a supervisory role.

Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of assigned staff, normally through subordinate supervision.
•Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the department; prepares and administers the department’s budget.
•Contributes to the overall quality of the department`s service provision by developing and coordinating work teams and by reviewing, recommending and implementing improved policies and procedures.
•Administers the repairs and maintenance function of all facilities and equipment (other than computer related).
•Identifies capital project needs and capital equipment needs, budgets appropriately, and oversees acquisition and construction programs and projects.
•Manages security systems, access control and fire panels throughout the Library system; ensures all devices and systems are operational.
•Meets with architects, engineers and other parties to monitor Library design and construction projects; monitors projects to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
•Administers contracts with and confers with construction contractors; schedules projects; provides technical oversight, inspects work in progress and ensures that all work complies with contract specifications and applicable codes and standards.
•Manage custodial activities.
•Selects staff; trains staff and provides for their professional development; administers discipline as required.
•Directs the maintenance of accurate records and files and prepares a variety of periodic and special reports and correspondence.
•Drives a motor vehicle to attend meetings and visit various work sites.
•Monitors developments in equipment, materials and techniques in the maintenance and construction field; gathers information and develops alternatives.
