About the Role: We are looking for a Building Automation System (BAS) Engineer to join our team in Elkton, Maryland. In this role you will work with the facility team, architects, other engineers, and contractors to develop a centralized, innovative building automation solution tailored to meet the needs of our facilities. This role will also be responsible for providing direct technical support and training to system users. The scope of responsibility will be to support facilities located in both the Eastern and Western regions of the US.



Responsibilities:

- Responsible for developing building automation system specification, standards and design

- Design and configure the BAS software including, graphics, database, network and equipment integrations

- Manage a project from development and stakeholder engagement through implementation and commissioning to ensure proper operation and adherence to company standards

- Responsible for software and firmware preventative maintenance. This includes implementing software patches, firmware upgrades and updating antivirus solutions

- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues and communication problems with Building Automation Systems and associated controllers and equipment

- Develop and maintain system and graphic standards, and ensure consistent implementation

- Responsible to ensure sequences of operation, as defined by project documents and engineers, is documented and implemented per company standards

- Develop and implement change management process for Building Automation Systems

- Coordinate with vendors and installation contractors for successful implementation of BAS system(s) including scopes of work (SOW), review bill of materials and equipment schedules to ensure they meet the needs of the project, specifications and team needs

- Work directly with Gore IT to build and troubleshoot networks, to support servers and to be a technical resource for BAS needs

Required Qualifications:

- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 5 years’ industry experience OR a 2 year technical degree with 5 years` design experience with Building Automation Systems supporting Facilities oriented projects

- Experience in BAS supervisory system programming

- Demonstrated ability to create BAS design, system specifications and standards

- Proven history of documenting and communicating work effectively through the creation of technical documentation

- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and drive multiple projects concurrently from development to completion against agreed upon timelines and deliverables

- Work both independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team, including influencing across functions

- Identify critical issues and failure modes, creating a framework of action to address these issues and assess root cause including effective risk-based decision making

- Staying up-to-date with market changes ensuring system integrity

- Partner with operations and business engagement for integrated testing as well as with operations team on releases into all environments (dev, prod)

- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Desired Qualifications:

- At least 10 years of direct hands-on Building Automation Design Experience

- Tridium/Niagara Programming experience

- IT and network architecture knowledge
