The U. S. Green Building Council has extended the deadline to take the current version of the LEED Professional Accreditation exam until Nov. 30.

The current exam is based on the LEED for New Construction Rating System version 2.1.USGBC’s new accreditation programs are expected to launch December 18, 2006, and will include an updated version of the exam track for new construction to reflect version 2.2, as well as new tracks for existing buildings and commercial interiors, USGBC says.

The launch date was modified because of unanticipated issues in the development process of the exams. USGBC contracts with Thomson Prometric for the development and delivery of its accreditation programs.

Because of the new launch date, in addition to unprecedented testing volume in late October that limited availability at some test sites, USGBC has extended the cut off date for the current exam to enable candidates to continue testing throughout November.

To schedule an exam, contact Thomson Prometric at 1-888-215-4154, Monday – Friday 8:00am through 8:00pm EST.

Questions or concerns about current testing availability or the new launch timeline can be sent to exam@usgbc.org.
