New ASTM International standard D 7327 offers the assurance of quality and safe handling, transport and storage of fire extinguishing agents. It will be used in the design of fire suppression systems for computer rooms, electronic data processing facilities, military facilities and vehicles and museums.

Specified for HFC Blend B (CH2FCF3, CHF2CF3 and CO2), primary users of the standard will be the U.S. Department of Defense, as well as architects and engineers involved in the design and specification of suppression systems.

The new standard was developed by Subcommittee D26.09 on Fire Extinguishing Agents, which is part of ASTM International Committee D26 on Halogenated Organic Solvents and Fire Extinguishing Agents.
