The labor shortage is arguably the most common complaint among facility managers. The industry is currently struggling to recruit and retain new talent as More Baby Boomers and Gen Xers begin to retire. FacilitiesNet recently asked facility managers what they look for in new hires, with the majority of respondents saying a positive attitude and willingness to learn. But that open-mindedness has yet to secure long-term hires as a stigma surrounding the younger generation lingers.

FacilitiesNet wants to know what you wish you knew when you first entered the industry? Responses will be used in a future FacilitiesNet articles, but don’t worry, we won’t publish your name or facility – we'll just relay your story.
