DOE Seeks Input on Electric Transmission Corridors
The Department of Energy (DOE) has extended the comment period on national interest electric transmission corridors.
The Department of Energy (DOE) has extended the comment period on national interest electric transmission corridors.
A report to be issued by DOE may designate as a "national interest electric transmission corridor" (National Corridor) any geographic area experiencing electric energy transmission capacity constraints or congestion that adversely affects consumers. Under Section 1221(a) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, DOE must issue a report based on its Aug. 8 Congestion Study.
In recognition of the public interest, DOE will issue any designation that it is considering in draft form, and allow additional opportunities for review and comment by affected States, regional entities, and the general public.
