TTI Consumer Power Tools is recalling its line of RIGID framing nailers due to a laceration hazard. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall notice, the dual-action system on the framing nailers can malfunction and the tool can shoot a nail if just the trigger is engaged. The product is supposed to only discharge a nail when the trigger and the work piece contact element (nose-piece) are engaged together.

About 64,000 framing nailers purchased at Home Depot and Direct Tool Factory Outlet stores between July 2021 and May 2025 are subject to the recall.

Facility managers who purchased the tool should stop using it immediately and visit the manufacturer’s recall site for instructions on how to arrange for a free repair. The manufacturer will send a prepaid label to return the recalled nailer, the software in the nailer will be updated, and then the nailer will be shipped back to the consumer.

There have been no injuries reported to date.
