With the horizontal blades facing in a downward direction, the RS-5215 Storm-Resistant Louver is suited for lower-level applications, obscuring the vertical blades behind the horizontal front. This option features a shallow five-inch depth and 51.6 percent free area. Meanwhile, with horizontal blades facing upward, the RS-5225 Storm-Resistant Louver is best for higher-level applications. Viewers at street level won’t be able to see the vertical blades installed behind. This option has a five-inch depth and 50 percent free area. Combined, they resist wind driven rain and winds as high as 50 miles per hour that can drive as much as eight inches of water per hour.
