This position carries out those activities required to maintain and repair passenger boarding bridges (PBBs) and associated equipment throughout Alaska.
Oversees PBB preventive maintenance and unscheduled maintenance program
Performs skilled troubleshooting and repair of PBB electrical and mechanical systems to including testing and replacing electronic circuits, motors, and motor controls
Performs inspections, troubleshooting and repair of 400-hz Ground Power Units, motor generators and power inverters
Ensures safety standards are met and ensures PBBs and GPUs are maintained in accordance with applicable directives and manufacture’s best practices
Performs major inspections and required by manufacturer
Install and maintains lock systems
Repairs panels and performs painting
Installs and repairs carpet and flooring
Cleans work area, tools, and equipment
Operates a variety of equipment and machines including various hand and power tools to perform repair and maintenance work; maintains tools and equipment in a safe, clean and proper working condition.
Purchases materials and parts to perform repairs; process records of purchase receipts
Operates light trucks to pick up and deliver equipment and supplies
Updates completed maintenance tasks and inputs data into a computer maintenance management system.
Performs required administrative and documentation tasks
Work will require use of ladders and high lifts
Position requires travel by aircraft up to 75% of the time. Some overnight travel is necessary
Work will involve some night or weekend work
