The new section includes sample specification language for architects, and information and tools for finding FSC-certified products. There is also a new option that allows customers seeking large volumes of FSC-certified wood products for building projects to email FSC-US and have that request delivered directly to all suppliers of FSC-certified building materials in the U.S.
Thanks in part to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating program of the U.S. Green Building Council, the "green" building industry has grown exponentially over the past several years. There are currently nearly 1,800 registered LEED projects in the U.S., and currently FSC is the only certification accepted for "new" (not reclaimed or recycled) wood in the LEED program.
