DOE Awards $16.5 Million for State Energy Savings Projects



The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded $16,509,819 in funding for 178 energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in 42 states, DOE says.




The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded $16,509,819 in funding for 178 energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in 42 states, DOE says.

State energy offices will use these funds to improve the energy efficiency of schools, homes, and other buildings; promote energy-efficient industrial technologies; and support renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and biomass. Some projects will create opportunities for distributed energy resources.

These competitive DOE awards fall under the categories of: Clean Cities, Industrial Technology Program, Building Codes and Standards, Rebuild America, Building America, Federal Energy Management Program, Solar Technology Program, State Wind Energy Support, Distributed Energy, Biomass, and Air Quality Integration.
