Already in 2024, 36,398 wildfires have burned more than 6.9 million acres, according to the National Interagency Fire Center. In the years to come, the problem will only get worse as experts project a 14 percent increase by 2030 and a 30 percent rise by 2050.
Properties not in the path of destruction shouldn't ignore this critical issue, either. Wildfire smoke can affect facilities that are thousands of miles away causing indoor air quality problems for occupants.
Attend our next "Ask the Expert" session covering Wildfire and IAQ Resilience on Wed., Oct. 23 at noon Eastern. Our guest will be Maureen Roskoski, vice president with FEA and one of our Facility Influencers. Maureen also learned first-hand the serious threat of wildfires having been in Lahaina, Hawaii, during Maui's deadly wildfire.
