What is FMXcellence?

Building Operating Management magazine has created the FMXcellence Recognition Program to acknowledge FM teams that embrace and respond to their organization's initiatives. If your department has added significant value to your facility by helping to achieve broader goals, we want to hear from you.

Whether the goal is sustainability, cost cutting, a shift in corporate culture, or attracting customers or new employees, the FM function plays an important role in achieving organizational results. And FM departments who achieve these results deserve praise.

That's why FMXcellence honorees will be chosen by the editors of Building Operating Management magazine and be recognized in the March 2010 magazine issue as well as the 2010 NFMT Conference in Baltimore.

We're looking for ways that FM is adding value. A wide range of FM efforts are eligible for recognition under the FMXcellence program, including:

  • Sustainability
  • Budgeting
  • Metrics for facility performance
  • Collaboration
  • Strategic facilities planning
  • Workplace planning
  • Cost cutting
  • Emergency planning
  • Mission critical support
  • Occupant satisfaction
  • Energy efficiency
  • Procurement and contract management
  • Staff development
  • Use of technology
  • Safety and security
  • Capital planning
  • Communication
(e.g. facilty newsletter or web site)

Deadline extended to November 6th
