Founded in 1975 by engineer and inventor Dr. Samuel Kagan, Electro Industries/GaugeTech (EIG) changed the face of power monitoring forever with its first breakthrough innovation: an affordable, easy-to-use AC power meter. A few of our many technology firsts include:

  • 1975: First multifunction meter
  • 1981: First micro-processor based power monitor

  • 2007: Shark® 200 data-logging sub-meter with optional I/O
  • 2008: First Nexus® 1500 transient recorder and power meter with advanced PQ and dual Ethernet communication ports
  • 2012: EIG is releasing many products specializing in the Smart meter and Alternative Energy marketplace, for example the Shark® 100B multifunction power and energy meter with native BACnet/IP.
