Ann Arbor, Mich. — March 1, 2016 — Humantech announces the release of its sixth video in “The Bottom Line” series. Each month, Blake McGowan, a certified professional ergonomist and managing consultant, translates a scientific research study on ergonomics into a short, simple message that can be applied in the workplace today.
In the latest video, “Risk Factors for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome,” McGowan highlights the key findings of a 2015 study conducted by The NIOSH Upper Limb Consortium and familiar research centers, led by Silverstein, Garg, Kappellusch, and Rempel. They found a strong relationship between personal factors, such as age, gender, and weight, and biomechanical factors, such as high hand forces.
Additional research topics summarized in “The Bottom Line” series include static standing, tablet use, treadmill and standing workstations, the optimal distance for palletizing, and the NIOSH Lifting Equation.
