Cleveland, Ohio — ByteGrid Holdings, a leading provider of highly compliant hosting solutions, recently announced that it has selected power management company Eaton to provide power management and monitoring solutions for its Cleveland Technology Center (CTC) in downtown Cleveland, the city’s largest multi-tenant data center.
As part of a major data center expansion in Cleveland, ByteGrid has installed two 1.5 mega-watt Eaton PowerXpert 9395 uninterruptible power systems (UPSs). Those systems provide industry-leading efficiency and modular redundancy, allowing ByteGrid to lower total cost of ownership (TCO) by leveraging groundbreaking energy-saving technology while increasing power system reliability.
In addition to the UPSs, ByteGrid relies on Eaton service, medium-voltage load interrupter switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, meters, and computer power distribution units (ePDUs) that deliver high-quality power to critical IT systems. These Eaton products will help support reliable operations and highly accurate metering of power in Cleveland’s largest multi-tenant data center.
ByteGrid chose Eaton based on its industry leadership in power efficiency, reliability, and safety. Eaton's power management solutions facilitate ByteGrid's focus on reduced operating costs associated with industry-leading Tier 3 / 4 multi-tenant data centers.
“We are pleased to supply ByteGrid as they further establish themselves as Cleveland’s leading provider of secure and compliant IT infrastructure solutions,” said Doug Schuster, senior vice president and general manager for Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions Division. “Eaton has a longstanding presence in Ohio, so it is with great pleasure that we support ByteGrid’s efforts to help area businesses maintain operational excellence through reliable and highly efficient power management systems with responsive local service.”
As Cleveland’s largest multi-tenant data center, ByteGrid’s facility encompasses 333,215 square feet of highly secure Tier 3 data center space. It features more than 11 carriers on Net and sits on top of one of the largest fiber point of presence (POP) sites in Ohio. In addition, the facility’s location bisects major Midwest and East Coast business centers, making it an ideal disaster recovery location for markets such as Chicago and New York.
Overall, ByteGrid provides turnkey solutions for large and midsize enterprises and federal, and highly regulated organizations seeking high-performance mission critical data center colocation, managed hosting, and compliant hybrid cloud solutions.
“ByteGrid looks forward to providing our enterprise and government customers with Eaton’s world-class power systems that deliver superior levels of redundancy, fault-tolerance, and operating efficiency,” said Mike Clemson, ByteGrid’s vice president, critical infrastructure. “Cleveland businesses — and the Health Tech corridor in particular — have some of the most demanding requirements for performance and compliance that we are proud to be able to deliver.”
E Technologies, a Cleveland-based manufacturer’s representative and integrator, worked closely with ByteGrid and Eaton to develop and deliver a power solution optimized for reliability, efficiency, and life-cycle costs.
“We are pleased ByteGrid is now powered by the industry’s most innovative provider of power infrastructure for mission critical facilities,” said John Englhardt, president, E Technologies, Inc. “ByteGrid quickly established itself as a leader in the Cleveland business community and we look forward to supporting their unique needs for delivering right-sized IT infrastructure solutions serving Ohio businesses.”
Overall, ByteGrid delivers services for eight data centers in six geographically dispersed markets encompassing more than 700,000 square feet of premier multi-tenant colocation data center space and meeting the highest standards for security and reliability. ByteGrid serves some of the world's largest companies and government agencies, including a variety of Fortune 100 companies.
