5/3/2016

Long Beach, Calif. — April 26, 2016 — The Department of Energy (DOE) presented its Advanced Roof Top Unit (RTU) Awards during the Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association’s, PRSM2016 National Conference being held in the Long Beach Convention Center. The Advanced RTU Campaign is a national initiative co-organized by ASHRAE, the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP), and the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Better Buildings Alliance. The campaign encourages commercial building owners/occupants to replace RTUs with high-efficiency models, retrofit existing RTUs with advanced controllers, and/or continue quality maintenance of existing RTUs.

Each year, the Advanced Rooftop Unit (RTU) Campaign recognizes organizations for leadership and excellence in commercial building RTU efficiency. The winners of this year’s DOE Advanced RTU Awards includes three PRSM retail members: Target Corporation, Walmart Stores, Inc., and Giant Tiger Stores Limited.

Other winners included: Southern California Edison, Whole Foods Market, and Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc.

More than 2,000 retail facilities management professionals attended PRSM2016 National Conference, a conference for multi-site retail facilities management featuring speakers, educational sessions, and more than 400 exhibiting companies.
