Facility managers can learn about emerging water-heating technologies during Heat Pump Water Heater Week on Oct. 26-29.
Organized by the Advanced Water Heating Initiative, the four-day event will feature virtual and in-person sessions exploring heat pump water heaters (HPWHs), including commercial applications, financing strategies, new products and installation considerations. The program includes over 10 sessions and dozens of speakers from across the industry.
HPWHs offer an opportunity to evaluate energy-efficient alternatives to conventional electric resistance and fossil fuel-fired water heating systems. Because domestic hot water is an important energy use in many commercial buildings, upgrading these systems can support energy-reduction goals while helping organizations advance electrification and sustainability initiatives.
However, selecting and implementing HPWHs requires careful consideration of building conditions, equipment costs, available space and hot-water demand. Facility managers can use the event to better understand these factors and identify potential opportunities for their properties.
The webcast schedule for the week is below. All times are for Eastern time zone.
Monday, Oct. 26 — Commercial Day
Tuesday, Oct. 27 — Residential Day
Wednesday, Oct. 28
Thursday, Oct. 29 — Heat Pump Water Heater Day
