Whether leasing or purchasing landscaping equipment, managers need to remember another important point: Get to know the dealers in the area. A reliable dealer will:
• offer attractive pricing and will be there after the sale
• help operators and mechanics follow manufacturers’ guidelines properly
• provide a team that will perform services with timeliness, friendliness and professionalism — and with today’s technology, managers definitely want experts taking care of their investment
• provide guidance and training
• be able and willing to deliver within managers’ schedules instead of making managers accommodate theirs.

Managers can ask around and read reviews to find out what people are saying about a particular dealer. They also can drop by the shop, then go back and visit again. This strategy can help build a long-term, mutual relationship and instill confidence, so it is well worth the extra effort.
