Vice President, Capital Planning & Facilities

The National Aquarium is seeking a dynamic visionary with exceptional project management skills, great ideas, and excellent leadership skills to step into the role of Vice President for Capital Planning. Always keeping in mind our values of Innovation, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Engagement, the VP is responsible for leadership of all capital improvement programs, ensuring the success of Aquarium capital projects and their alignment with our mission of inspiring conservation of the world’s aquatic treasures. In addition, the VP provides leadership of the building facilities and life support departments and teams.

The Vice President of Capital Planning reports to the SVP / COO and is a member of the Management Planning Team (MPT). The MPT executes the Leadership Team’s vision, planning and implementing strategic priorities, supporting goals, budgets, and policies; sets direction for staff; and proposes program direction, including ROI.

The position is based at the Aquarium’s administrative offices in Baltimore, MD. Reporting to the VP, Capital Planning are three teams – Capital Planning, Facilities, and Life Support – currently numbering twenty-two full time staff members.
