Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union and recipient of the Tampa Bay Times Top Places to work in 2013, is hiring an Energy Efficiency Engineer! This position is responsible for reducing the Credit Union’s energy usage in our Corporate Office located in Tampa and our growing number of service centers, currently 56 that span across the west coast of Florida. The Energy Efficiency Engineer will use the latest technology to research, engineer and oversee the installation of new energy efficient HVAC units and lighting. The Engineer will also spearhead research, designing and implementing the Credit Union’s carbon neutral plan.

Job Duties:
• Design and implement energy efficicency control systems for all credit union buildings.
• Research, engineer, and oversee installation of new energy efficent HVAC and lighting systems.
• Regularly inspect HVAC and lighting systems to assess energy efficiency. Oversee upgrades to new units and regulary inspect buildings for efficiency updgrades.
• Complete detailed cost analysis of all potential energy efficiency upgrades, commission new and replacement HVAC installations to ensure equipment was installed correctly and operates as expected.
• Researches and designs a carbon neutral plan for the Credit Union. Acts as the lead in implemention of the plan.
• Responds to emergency situations on weekends and evenings when needed.
• Responsible for maintaining knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Attends conferences, courses, seminars, workshops, and meetings that will increase professional knowledge.
• Bachelors degree in a relevant field, or 7-9 years progressively reponsible experience in commercial HVAC and building maintanance, including energy efficient HVAC and lighting and, carbon neutral plan.
• Must possess a valid Florida Drivers license.
• Extensive knowledge and ability in all phases of HVAC and electrical work.
• Excellent working knowledge of the operations and procedures involving testing and maintenance equipment, as well as office machinery and equipment.
• Previous experience in project management and overseeing installation and retrofit projects. Must be able to read and interpret plans, blue prints, schematics, and work orders.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities. This includes, but is not limited to, OSHA, EPA, and other construction, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with staff, vendors, and government regulators.
• Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
