Window replacement systems for pocket installations, frame expanders, brickmoulds, subframes, and receptors allow installation of new windows from inside the building. The operable window sash can be removed while the existing window frame remains in the opening. Then the frame expanders or subframes can be used to cover the existing window frame and become a receptor for the new window.
