The ligature-resistant units are designed for new construction and retrofits. For new construction applications, managers can order the tip for concealed, geared continuous hinges. The second option, for retrofit applications, is to use the Tipit™ hospital tip and replace worn-out hinges with full-surface geared hinges. Tipit™ is made from a durable, high-tech polymer and attaches to the door-frame header above the hinge. The third option, also for retrofits, is to add Tipit to existing hinges.
