Ceilings
Armstrong The Effects 2-foot-by-2-foot metal ceiling eliminates the potential for delamination by using a powder-coated finish to embed a realistic image of wood onto a standard metal panel. The panels are available in cherry and maple finishes and have a Class A flame spread rating.
Smart Cards
Datacard Group The company’s modular and scalable Datacard Affinia smart card software suite allows users to introduce smart cards into existing Datacard environments. Customers can reuse the same software and hardware resources as program size and needs change over time.
Carpet fiber
Antron Brilliance carpet fiber is constructed with type 6,6 nylon polymer, and DuraTech soil resistance chemical treatment. The carpet is compatible with StainResist fiber technology, which is designed to make it easier to clean most stains commonly found in the interior commercial environment. Carpet styles in the line include a 10-year limited warranty for fiber loss from abrasive wear and a lifetime antistatic limited warranty.

Rooftop thermal storage
Ice Energy The Ice Bear 50 is charged at night by a standard 5-ton air conditioning unit, storing 50 ton-hours of cooling capacity during the day, which has the potential to reduce peak electrical demand by 10 kw per unit, according to the company. The insulated units hold 570 gallons of water and can be roof- or ground-mounted.
Smoke Detector
System Sensor The PF24 directional sounder is designed to draw building occupants to evacuation routes when visibility is low. The sounder uses a low-, mid- and high-range sounds in pulse patterns, with the sound pattern becoming faster as an occupant approaches the perimeter exit. The flush-mount sounder has five field-selectable power settings.
Boilers
AERCO The Modulex line of boilers includes independent thermal modules housed in a common enclosure, allowing other modules in the boiler to maintain system load if a single module requires maintenance. The boilers are available in six sizes, with modulating capabilities from 6:1 to 23:1, and operate at less than 50 db.
Air Filtration System
Dectron The BioCirc total air filtration system combines ultraviolet, mechanical filtration and gas-phase air purification technologies in a single unit. The system is available in ductless units for single rooms up to 25,000 square feet, retrofitable units for central air handling equipment or duct-mounted units.
Flooring
Nora Rubber Flooring The norament luxor line of commercial rubber floor coverings has a mat-silk polished surface available in 16 standard colors to create a look of terrazzo or marble. The floors are certified by Greenguard for indoor air quality and don't require waxing or sealing.
Turbine Generator
Carrier The Microsteam system recovers energy by reducing inlet steam pressure using a high efficiency, radial outflow steam turbine to drive a generator. The system takes 125 psig steam at 12,000 pounds per hour and produces 275 kw of electricity. The 460-volt generator and turbine use titanium alloy construction and include PLC-based microprocessor controls.

SHOWCASE: POWER
Six Steps to Finding the Right Generator
Russelectric The company’s single-operator and dual-operator automatic transfer switches are available in 2-, 3-, or 4-pole configurations for emergency/standby power systems. The switches are labeled for use with any circuit breaker with instantaneous trip, are UL-listed through 4,000 amperes and are SCADA capable.
They offer front-accessible wiring and rapid arc quenching. The Model RMT single-operator switch and the Model RMTD dual-operator switch are designed for open-transition switching. Both models have positive mechanical interlocking and provide high-speed, quick-break, quick-make preloaded transfer by means of a simple electrical operator, backed-up by a safe manual operator.
Generac The company’s new QT series of gaseous-fueled standby generators operate on natural gas or liquid propane vapor, with outputs ranging from 20 to 150 kilowatts. The 100 and 150 kw models are available with onboard paralleling technology, allowing their output to be combined in modular fashion to meet greater power requirements. The generators are quiet in normal operating mode and run at a reduced speed during their weekly self-exercise routine for near-silent operation.
Caterpillar The company’s new generator with ACERT technology provides rating ranges from 550 to 660 kw (standby) and 500 to 545 kw (prime) in a 60 hz model, and 550 to 700 kvA (standby) and 500 to 635 kvA (prime) in a 50 hz model. ACERT technology is comprised of an ADEM A4 controller, MEUI fuel system and cross-flow cylinder head. The generator set features an air-to-air after cooler (ATAAC) cooling system, an advanced EMCP 3 control system, multiple control panel and power connection location options, and enhanced package-mounted circuit breaker options.
Kohler Power The company’s transfer switches include MPAC 1500 controllers that monitor through Ethernet or RS-485 LAN. The controllers can communicate to local, remote or building management system-connected critical power systems. The product features a USB port for data loading and downloading capability. All of the settings, maintenance records and the last 99 events, such as power disturbances and exercise periods, can be downloaded for viewing or archival storage.
ASCO The 4000 series power control system uses switchgear that can be customized to satisfy specific power system requirements. Modular design enables quick delivery and lead times, and facilitates installation and start up. The system reduces engine run time by automatically adjusting the number of engines needed to match loads and provides load management controls to avoid overloading engines. The system includes a color touch screen, an independent digital paralleling controller, engine-generator control redundancy and automated remote diagnostics and data trending.
Eaton The Quick-Connect Double-Throw safety switch is a manual device consisting of two interlocked switches that cannot be on at the same time. The system connects mobile generators or portable equipment rated from 30 to 800 amps to a facility’s electrical system. The switches are vertically oriented, with the upper switch as the normal switch, and the lower switch as the backup power switch. Wires are connected from the line side of the backup power switch to a power inlet receptacle. This allows a generator to be plugged into the switch via a receptacle rather than opening the switch.
