Building Operating Management's 2015 FMXcellence Recognition Program Honorees Announced

January 15, 2015 – Milwaukee – Building Operating Management magazine, the leading magazine for non-residential building owners and facility managers, today announced the honorees selected for this year's FMXcellence Recognition Program. The annual award recognizes facilities management teams that add significant value to their organizations by helping to achieve broader goals. The honorees will be celebrated at a special event held at the National Facilities Management and Technology (NFMT) Conference and Expo at the Baltimore Convention Center March 10, 2015.

The 2015 honorees are:

  • adidas
  • Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
  • Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning
  • University of Arizona

The winning projects represent progress in the facilities management industry and run the gamut of best practices. Winning project highlights include:

  • adidas established a green energy fund.

  • The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center developed how to work successfully with lean staffing.

  • The Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning created the Strategic Energy Plan.

  • The University of Arizona initiated a facilities management department Apprenticeship Program.

This year's nominees were judged by the editorial staff of Building Operating Management magazine. All of the winning projects will be covered in the August issue of Building Operating Management and presented at NFMT Conference and Expo in March. Details of the winning projects are posting on MyFacilitiesnet.com.

“This year, we had one of the strongest pools of FMXcellence honorees that we have ever had. That made judging difficult,” said Building Operating Management editor Edward Sullivan. “But the honorees this year truly represent the best in facility management today. It's a great pleasure to be able to recognize their accomplishments publicly.”
